Your location stays yours

A motorcycle app that notices encounters has to handle location carefully. Here is plainly what Moket does with your GPS and what it never does.

When Moket uses your location

  • Only during a ride you start yourself. No tracking in the background outside rides.
  • Your private zones, for example home or work, stay on your phone. Points inside them and the first and last 500 metres of a ride are not sent.
  • During the ride the GPS points go to our server in Frankfurt, Germany, only to find encounters.

What others see, and what they never see

  • Never your live position, never your route.
  • Other riders only see an encounter: your bike, your nickname, a rough area of a few kilometres and the time of day, some time after the ride ends.
  • Shared rides show only the meeting spot the organiser chose.

When data is deleted

  • Raw GPS points are deleted automatically no later than 72 hours after the ride ends.
  • Your profile keeps numbers like kilometres, ride time and records, not the route.
  • You can delete your account at any time, also without the app.

No ad trackers

No advertising trackers and no selling of data. The app has optional anonymous usage statistics that you can switch off in the settings. This website sets no cookies.
